Great film thanks for sharing, I wonder why we stopped using turpentine? I guess it’s due to the lack of wooden ships and the chemical industry creating cheaper chemicals that can substitute them pine products, as well as the oil industry and its growth and products.

My parents often gave us a dose of Life Everlastimg before the winter season. We were never ill with as much as a cold. There are so many golden nuggets in this documentary. Every home remedy she mentions brings back memories.

I’ve just watch a film from the 1940s of turpentine production. I had hoped in this era, that things would have changed but alas not. During the ‘40s’ film, the people doing the hard graft were all non-whites and the people doing the pointing and writing lists were all white. Come this time and this film, seems nothing has changed. Those doing the hard-graft are still non-white and those doing the pointing and writing on clipboards are still all whites.

I do wonder if the Virgin of Covadonga in Nothern Spain is based on Conventini as there is a 7 headed stone fountain there which promises marriage, which perhaps prior was related to fertility. It would be wonderful to study it and see. The site is near a battle and the solider Pelayo is known to have prayed to the virgin there - who warned him prior to battle. Since conventini' is related to soldiers and sources of water, it also makes me think it is possible. The virgin was said to have appeared in a cave near the site of lakes and a spring, another possible clue. I wonder if the site was already sacred and then a church placed there to adapt the story of the celts in that area of the mountains.

Growing up hunkered down around the radio with my dad mom and brothers listening to Larry was truly one of the happiest times of my life . All of Dads side of the family went to Ga. And even though I wound up at Tech , I will always be a Dog fan except when they play Tech. But I will be a Munson fan forever . His voice I will always treasure .
